Totally Random Fun Facts..!!

I will start with the everyone’s favorite random fact that we may have already had alien contact..!!
In 1977, a volunteer for the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence received a 72 secs long signal from a distant star system, 120 light years from Earth. It was loud and sent from a place that had yet to be visited by mankind, so the guy who received it wrote, “Wow!” next to the original printout of the signal. It continues to be known as the “Wow! Signal.”
So here are some more random fun facts that everyone should know…

1. 35% of people are born without wisdom teeth. and as we continue to evolve, scientists believe that more and more humans will be born without wisdom teeth or appendixes or even little toes!

2. The cotton candy machine was invented by a dentist.

3. In Japan, letting a sumo wrestler make your baby cry is considered good luck.

4. The most shoplifted food item in the U.S. is candy and in Europe, it’s cheese and in Latin America, it’s meat.

5. The FBI investigated the song “Louie Louie” because the agency thought the lyrics were dirty.

6. Roller coasters were invented to distract Americans from sin.

7. Supermarket apples can be a year old because they’re usually picked between August and November, covered in wax, hot-air dried, and sent into cold storage. After six to twelve months, they finally land on your grocery store shelves.

8. Blue whale tongues can weigh as much as an elephant.

9. The Statue of Liberty used to be a lighthouse! About a month after the statue’s 1886 dedication, it became a working lighthouse for 16 years, with its torch visible from 24 miles away.

16. The average male gets bored of a shopping trip after 26 minutes. Meanwhile, women don’t get tired of shopping until around 2 hours! So next time you see a couple at a retail store with a bored looking boyfriend or husband, you know they’ve been out for more than half an hour.

17. In the 16th Century, Turkish women could initiate a divorce if their husbands didn’t pour coffee for them.

18. Bob Dylan’s real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman.

19. A woman tried to commit suicide by jumping off the Empire State Building. She jumped from the 86th floor but was blown back onto the 85th floor by a gust of wind.

20. It snowed in the Sahara desert for 30 minutes on the 18th February 1979.

21. Mike Tyson once offered a zoo attendant 10,000 dollars to let him fight a gorilla.

22. According to Genesis 1:20-22 the chicken came before the egg.

29. John F. Kennedy was buried without his brain. Apparently U.S. Government documents revealed that his younger brother, Robert ‘Bobby’ Kennedy, had the brain secretly destroyed to ensure it was never displayed in a museum.

30. If you fell into a volcano, you’d float on the lava instead of melting. This is because the molten goo’s density is so thick that you would just land on it and ‘float’ until you burst into flames.

31. Popcorn is the healthiest cinema snack and has serious health benefits. Eating popcorn builds bone, muscle and tissue, as well as aiding digestion and being good for your teeth.

32. A U.S. Park Ranger, Roy Cleveland Sullivan once got hit by lightning seven times between 1942 and 1977 which earned him an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records and the nickname “Human Lighting Rod.” He survived and lived to the age of 71.

33. Beloved children’s book author Roald Dahl was a spy for the British Security Coordination gathering intelligence during World War II. One of his specialties was using his charm to seduce society ladies, possibly for intelligence gathering, possibly for his own leisure.

34. Scotland has more than 400 words for “snow” like “snaw” (snow), “feefle” (swirls of snow), “flindrinkin” (a light snow shower) etc. And that giant snowflake that fell in Montana; that would be called a “skelf”.

35. Someone tried to sell New Zealand on eBay but was stopped once the bid reached $3,000(clearly New Zealand is not for sale.!).

36. The German word “kummerspeck” means weight gained from emotional eating.(Well now I can say this in one word..!)

37. Ancient Egyptians put a dead mouse in their mouth to ease toothaches.

38. Neil Armstrong’s hair was sold in 2004 for $3,000.

39. All blue-eyed people have a common ancestor. Scientists have recently tracked the mutation to a single human who lived somewhere around 6,000-10,000 years ago.

40. You can tell if someone really likes you by looking at their feet while you talk. In a pleasant conversation, both parties’ feet will face each other. If the feet are turned away or moving outward, the person wants to escape. If you’re sitting next to each other, check how the person crosses their legs. When the top leg points away from you, the person is uncomfortable.

Oh migosh, I thought Louie Louie is the same as the song Brother Louie… I always thought that the title was Brother Louie Louie and having seen your post, I told myself, oh there was no Brother on the title… since you mentioned that the song is somehow flagged by the FBI, I had to check the lyrics once more, only to find out that it was a different song after all
